Last weekend in Seattle, Nordstrom employees and their families participated in the annual Fred Hutch Obliteride, a bike ride and 5K walk/run that supports the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. This impactful event empowers people to accelerate cancer research, prevention, detection, treatment and cures.   Corporate philanthropy is rooted in our history, and we're proud to support the communities we serve. Our commitment to helping employees give back to causes they care about is at the heart of our program. We extend our gratitude to everyone who united in our shared purpose and helped exceed our fundraising goal to help make a meaningful impact.   #NordstromCares

To celebrate Black Business Month, we hosted two special events last week in New York City and Los Angeles, featuring discussions with our brand partners Bossy Cosmetics Inc., Harlem Candle Co., Humanrace, Novara, and The Potion Studio, followed by networking cocktails with influential voices from the community and aspiring entrepreneurs.   Our moderators—Beauty Editor & Expert Maya Alena Allen in NYC and Nordstrom National Beauty Director Autumne West in LA—supported engaging conversations about the brands’ journeys. Panelists Dr. Elena Jones, Reshona Jessamy, Teri Johnson, Aishetu Fatima Dozie and Aziza El Wanni addressed misconceptions about Black-owned brands, offered personal and business advice, discussed community, and highlighted their favorite products. Thank you to everyone who joined us! #BlackBusinessMonth

On this week’s episode of The Nordy Pod, our host Pete Nordstrom talks to one of the leading voices in fashion and retail journalism — Lauren Sherman, fashion correspondent at Puck.     After starting her career at Forbes, Lauren marketed herself as a business journalist who covers fashion, and that unique beat has made her an influential voice in all corners of our industry. For years, Lauren has gotten under the hood of fascinating brand stories, and through her reporting, she’s developed an invaluable perspective about what makes brands successful.   She and Pete talked about her approach to reporting, the importance of having a point of view, the value that multi-brand retailers can offer customers, and more. Tune in: https://bit.ly/4dpyRQh
