Volunteer Opportunity: NSCHC seeks volunteers to translate brochures and patient forms from English to Arabic, Dari, Kirundi, French, or Farsi for NSCHC non-English speaking patients. The benefit of healthcare materials in their native languages will enable our patients to achieve optimal health outcomes. Once again North Side Christian Health Center will be in attendance at Mission of Mercy, a two-day event connecting patients with the health care they need. Doors open at 6:00 am on Friday and Saturday. All services are provided on a first come - first served basis. https://lnkd.in/ekyKZZhK

That's a wrap! Friends and supporters came together on Friday, October 18 to celebrate the important work of NSCHC at Faith Renewed, the annual fundraising gala. Our guests heard from five current patients including our Keynote Speaker, Aaryn Hunt, Miss Pennsylvania for America Strong 2024. "Incorporating faith into the medical setting is a bold and revolutionary approach, one that has the potential to bridge the gap and lead many people to the healing they seek," Aaryn said. "The staff at NSCHC has helped me in countless ways and please keep in mind that my story is just one testimonial out of the many patients that they have served over the years." 380 walkers raised $109,516 for NAMIWalk on Sunday. NSCHC Chief Behavioral Health Officer, Dr. Cathy Sigmund and Miss PA for America Strong, Aaryn Hunt were there to walk for NAMI, the National Alliance for Mental Illness. For some of our neighbors a daily meal is a choice between food and other crucial needs—like medicine, rent, or childcare. Thanks to a generous collaboration with Pittsburgh Community Services Inc. and Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank we have the opportunity to bridge this gap. Our next Free Produce Thursday is October 3, 10:30 - 2:30 at our Middle Street office. 🥦🍅🥕🌽
