#ICYMI: Last week, the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation  released the FY23 Defense Spending by State report, offering a detailed look at how defense investments support local economies. In FY23, DoD contract obligations, payroll spending, and grant awards across the 50 states and D.C. totaled $609.2 billion—equivalent to 2.2% of the U.S. GDP. Breaking it down:   ▪️ $431.4 billion (71%) went to contracts for products and services.   ▪️ $167.4 billion (27%) was used for DoD personnel salaries.   ▪️ $10.4 billion (2%) was awarded as grants.  This report highlights how defense spending supports innovation, strengthens supply chains, and develops a skilled workforce in communities nationwide.   Check out the executive summary below to see how defense dollars impact your area.   #SucceedThroughTeamwork #ExpandTheBase
