Meet Ioanna, Industry Technology Specialist focusing on biosolutions for plant-based food In the video, our colleague Ioanna Anagnostara shares what she is focusing on in her daily work at our Food and Beverage Biosolutions team. For plant-based meat producers, improving the texture often means adding more ingredients, but that’s a challenge when 87% of consumers say they want short, recognizable ingredient lists. "Since consumers are demanding better texture and shorter ingredient lists, producers are approaching us to help fulfill these expectations. I provide technical support on every step of the way, from the first interactions with a customer to on-site lab and industrial-scale trials. Pioneering plant microbiome research: Professor Julia Vorholt receives the 2025 Novonesis Biotechnology Prize Today, it was announced that Julia Vorholt, Professor of Microbiology at ETH Zürich, is the recipient of this year's Novonesis Biotechnology Prize, which is accompanied by a DKK 5 million research grant.  “Receiving this prize is a tremendous honour. The recognition is overwhelming, and it highlights the importance of understanding microbial communities and their role in plant health,” she says. Professor Julia Vorholt’s work has changed how we think about plant health. Her innovative research on plant microbiomes holds the potential to transform agriculture. Leading with passion: Trailblazer from Novonesis in Argentina Today is International Women’s Day and for this occasion we’re sharing the story of our colleague Viviana Bruno. She is Head of Dairy Application in our Latin America region, based in Argentina. After 28 years in the company, she shares insights and advice from her career.  Back in the 1980s, Viviana earned her degree in chemical engineering and entered the workforce in a field that was dominated by males. At a young age, she was promoted and was the very first female manager of a company of 5,000.  Overcoming obstacles on her path has been difficult at times. Her approach has been to be passionate in all aspects of her life. For Viviana, passion is something that brings energy, excitement and it’s an active choice to do your best every day. Today, Viviana leads a team of 25 people across Latin America at Novonesis. As a leader, she loves sharing knowledge, creating a supportive environment, and seeing her team find the same passion for the industry as she has. “I try to show them what I find important, and it brings me so much joy to watch my colleagues grow. Their development is my fuel,” she says. Viviana is optimistic about the future of female leadership, but she also encourages taking action: “I see a bright future with many opportunities for women in leadership positions. Novonesis is part of new alliance between Denmark and India on sustainable energy solutions Recently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark announced its Green Transition Alliance India initiative to strengthen collaboration with India on sustainable energy solutions and accelerate its shared commitment to global carbon neutrality. Our colleague Krishna Mohan Puvvada, Regional President – Middle East, India, and Africa, commented on the announcement: “We are thrilled to be part of this visionary initiative.
