NV5 Storms the CASQA 2024 Annual Conference! NV5’s California Environmental Water Resources Team attended the California Stormwater Quality Association’s (CASQA) 2024 Annual Conference, October 20th - 23rd. NV5 Staff Conference Highlights: Matt Renaud, CPESC, CESSWI, QISP, QSD/P ToR, a Sr. Water Resources Consultant, presented on Passive Treatment Technologies Nicholas Poser, QISP, CESSWI, a Water Resources Associate III, moderated four sessions for the Monitoring and Special Studies Track which focused on bacteria and pathogen monitoring studies in the San Diego River, Southern California, Petaluma River, and Lower American River. Michelle (Earl) Mattson, CPSWQ , Director, Water Resources and Municipal Stormwater Practice Lead, moderated four sessions for the Policy, Permitting, and Legislation Track. Jennifer Peterson, P.E., CFM, CPESC, QSD, LEED AP, a Sr. PM, was recognized for winning the Outstanding Service Award for her work with the Construction General Permit Training Team for Development of QSP Delegate Training Guidelines & PowerPoint Modules. Our Planning & Design group was recently recognized in Engineering News-Record California's Regional Best Projects for their work on the renovation of the W Hotels Los Angeles. The project, which earned the Award of Merit in the Small Projects category, consisted of relocating the existing spa and fitness center and converting the space into 14 additional guestrooms, increasing the total number of guestrooms to 319. A new cafe and updates to the existing bar and kitchen, meeting spaces and public areas, including lighting enhancements for the level one outdoor space and the pool area, were also completed. NV5 provided MEP engineering services, in addition to Audiovisual, Electronic Security and Structured Cabling Systems design.
