EDCAC or Every Day Counts Attendance Challenge is a program of ONGB that emphasizes the importance of attending school every single day, even in kindergarten. 📚 As the Oakland Public Education Fund notes, student attendance has a profound impact on learning and academic success. Hen kids miss school, they lose valuable opportunities to learn and connect with their school community. 🏫 By providing incentives and recognition for perfect attendance, the EDCAC aims to build good attendance habits early on and ensure that every child has the chance to succeed academically. 💯

Honoring Indigenous Peoples’ Day in Oakland! 🧡✨ Today we celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and ongoing resilience of Native American communities, especially the Ohlone and Bay Miwok, who have called the Bay Area home for centuries. 🌀 Despite colonization and forced relocation, Indigenous peoples are still here, preserving and reviving their cultures through activism and community efforts. 🌿 But did you know many of us live on occupied Ohlone land?
