Check out the latest report by the National Ocean Industries Association on global oil production emissions conducted by ICF, the GHG Emission Intensity of Crude Oil and Condensate Production. Prepared by ICF, the report reveals that the greenhouse gas intensity of U.S. oil production, particularly in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, is lower compared to most other regions around the world. Total U.S. oil production has a carbon intensity 23% lower than the international average, and the U.S. Gulf of Mexico has a carbon intensity 46% lower than the global average, outperforming other nations like Russia, China, Brazil, Venezuela, Iran, Iraq, and Nigeria. The report showcases the outstanding achievements of the U.S. Gulf of Mexico in producing low carbon intensity barrels while maintaining a thriving energy production system. Based upon the findings from ICF and other leading organizations, the U.S. Gulf of Mexico is at the forefront of delivering among the world’s lowest carbon intensity barrels of oil. The world needs both climate solutions and a growing amount of energy, and we don't have to choose between the two. Today's Central Atlantic offshore wind lease sale by the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Ocean Energy Management yielded nearly $93 million in high bids. Congratulations to Equinor and Dominion Energy. The American offshore wind industry is growing, with companies investing in communities, jobs, and the supply chain. The industry continues to show a highly favorable long-term trend. The lease sale also underscores that Washington needs to do more to maintain this momentum. This will be the first year without a federal offshore oil and gas lease sale since 1958. After this December, the Interior cannot hold any more offshore wind lease sales until another offshore oil and gas sale is held. Exciting news for Chevron and a groundbreaking moment for the offshore energy industry! 🚀 Chevron has commenced oil and natural gas production at the Anchor project in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico, marking a pivotal advancement in the sector. This project is the first to utilize cutting-edge subsea high-pressure technology rated to 20,000 psi, with reservoir depths of 34,000 feet. At peak, Anchor will produce up to 75,000 barrels per day, reinforcing the Gulf of Mexico’s role in low carbon intensity production. Chevron operates Anchor with a 62.86% stake, while TotalEnergies holds 37.14%. This project underscores the importance of consistent leasing, with Chevron securing the initial blocks back in 2003 and 2008. Anchor’s impact goes beyond energy production. The project generated $700M in spending in Texas and Louisiana during construction, with an additional $500M allocated for offshore maintenance and $135M for marine support vessels over its 30-year life. Plus, it created 4M workforce hours during construction and 1.6M during commissioning, benefiting contractors and subcontractors across the region. "In Fiscal Year 2023, the U.S. Department of the Interior awarded Louisiana over$156 million through GOMESA, with more than $30 million directly benefiting coastal parishes. By reforming state revenue sharing mechanisms, the RISEE Act promises additional revenue for Louisiana, directly benefiting our residents without increasing taxes. "According to our calculations, Louisiana could receive an additional $1.96 billion over the next 10 years if the cap is lifted. "Increasing Louisiana’s share of revenues by lifting the GOMESA cap and incorporating offshore wind revenues will bolster our coastal resiliency efforts and contribute to habitat protection and restoration initiatives." Danos owner, president, & CEO and National Ocean Industries Association Executive Committee member Paul Danos writes in the Houma Times, that Senator Cassidy's RISEE Act represents a crucial step towards further safeguarding vulnerable communities and businesses impacted by powerful forces such as hurricanes and coastal erosion.

The RISEE Act further connects the dots between responsible offshore energy development and environmental stewardship and coastal restoration and resiliency. Whether it is through coastal restoration, hurricane protection, or infrastructure improvement, the bipartisan bill is a win for coastal communities.
