🚢 Help Name the Empire Wind Service Operation Vessel! 🚢 We’re thrilled to announce that the Equinor Empire Wind Service Operation Vessel (SOV) will be docked right outside the Offshore Wind Innovation Hub – and we need your help to give it a name that will make a lasting impact! This vessel, developed in partnership with our US marine transportation provider and supplier partner, Edison Chouest Offshore, will be the first plug-in hybrid SOV in the US offshore wind sector, capable of sailing partly on battery power. 🌱 ⚡ This vessel will serve as a symbol of offshore wind innovation and will be a visible reminder of the progress we’re making in renewable energy. 🌍 Here’s your chance to be a part of shaping maritime history! The name you suggest could represent the cutting-edge hybrid vessel which sails on electric power while at port and near shore, and uses gas while out at sea. It’s a groundbreaking addition to the offshore wind sector – and its name will be a part of that legacy for years to come. Click here to submit your name suggestions by October 30th! https://lnkd.in/eiaVi8Jm 💡More information below, thanks Ashley Elizabeth Ball! Let’s get creative and think big! 💡

🌬️ RECAP: Equinor’s Opportunity in Action for Minority/Women/Veteran-Owned Small Businesses 💚 We had a great day at Camp David where diverse businesses, startups, and industry leaders gathered to explore growth opportunities in New York’s offshore wind sector. Hosted by Equinor, this event highlighted how M/WBEs/SDVOBs can leverage the new opportunities created by New York's expanding offshore wind industry. Participants had the chance to network with key decision-makers and experts, while also accessing resources to build capacity for their businesses and drive sustainable growth! Key points made by speakers: 🌍 To build a more inclusive startup environment, there should be better access to healthcare for founders (including mental health and childcare support) and more outreach efforts and hosting events that unite diverse communities. 🔍 Startups must prioritize customer discovery by actively engaging with potential users to understand their needs and avoid analysis paralysis. Additionally, creating clear, simple communication about their products or services can help attract support in various sectors. 🙌 Persistence is key so startups, stay resilient, even when facing challenges or setbacks. Engaging with gate openers in key communities can also provide vital support and opportunities for growth. 💚 The day also included insights into capacity building, procurement, compliance, and securing capital for renewable energy ventures. Big thanks to the speakers Fernando Gómez-Baquero Ph.D., Julia Byrd, David (DJ) Cotlow, Abner Larrieux, Trevor Prince, Maureen Fairlie, Patrick Askew, Mike Sheelen, Christopher V., Barry Smith, Mark O Brazier, Nancy Carin, and our Director Tone Søndergaard! We’re excited to support businesses that drive innovation and sustainability! 💡 #supplychain #renewableenergy #entrepreneurs #offshorewind #innovation #sustainability #cleantech #renewableenergy
