Local leaders discussed the increasing suicide rates in Butler County and shared valuable resources. OhioMHAS Director LeeAnne Cornyn provided welcoming remarks, while OhioMHAS Chief Advisor Tia Marcel Moretti hosted the evening's discussion with experts from the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation, local mental health professionals, and individuals with lived experience fostering an open dialogue on this critical issue. Attendees participated in a community assessment to identify key factors affecting mental health. At the Ohio Adult Care Facilities Association's annual conference on October 22, 2024, OhioMHAS Chief of Staff John Annarino emphasized the vital role of residential care providers in offering dignity, stability, and a sense of home for residents. He highlighted key state programs supporting adult care providers, including: 🏡 Residential State Supplement: Enabling over 2,400 Ohio adults with disabilities to live in their communities. 🛠️ Enhancing Quality Grant: Flexible funding for providers to assist with staffing, repairs, and support. 🤝 Access to Wellness: Supporting over 2,000 individuals with mental health needs. 💻 Digital Coordination: Transitioning to a web-based platform for improved provider communication. Aisha Hadiya, who works with Eastway Behavioral Healthcare and operates two homes in Dayton joined Annarino on stage as he highlighted the commitment to this service among many in the industry. Hadiya has been in the field for 42 years serving in Montgomery County with Eastway and is involved with the local ADAMH board.
