We recently facilitated an Oiled Wildlife Response Workshop in Shetland, bringing together key stakeholders from local and national wildlife response groups to enhance preparedness across Shetland and the UK. 🤝 Over a day and a half, representatives from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), OPRED, RSPB, Shetland Oiled Wildlife Network (SOWN), Shetland Islands Council (SIC), oil & gas industry stakeholders, and more came together to build a shared understanding of the resources and actions needed to respond to an oiled wildlife incident. The event included a tour of the sanctuary, a demonstration of OSRL's Shetland Base Tier 2 oiled wildlife equipment, and a hands-on tabletop exercise. A big thank you to Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary for hosting us and allowing us the pleasure of meeting Munro and Frankie, two common seals who call Hillswick home! 🐬 Read the full article to discover how this workshop fostered stronger collaboration and produced actionable outcomes to improve oiled wildlife response capabilities in Shetland: https://lnkd.in/eThCFZZ5 #osrl #oilspillresponse #oiledwildlife #wildlife
