Thanks to The Architect's Newspaper for featuring the newest addition to Stanford University’s campus, an administrative building for the Center for Advanced Study in Behavioral Sciences (CASBS). Led by design principal Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA, the building is the first new structure on the CASBS campus since 1954. designboom recently highlighted Blue Ridge House, a family home in Delaplane, Virginia, led by design principal Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA. Perched on a knoll overlooking surrounding vineyards, the cruciform design creates separate wings, each framing a unique view of the 92-acre winery. Blue Ridge House unfolds and extends into the trees on steel-reinforced cantilevers, while the reddish patina of its Corten steel siding reinforces the sense that the home has grown within the natural landscape.
