To recognize Women's Equality Day, one of the most pressing UN SDG issues being addressed, 4 ways reforestation can improve gender equality: 🌱 Elevate women's voices in planning and decision-making, which also ensures long-term success of reforestation projects 🌱 Reduce food insecurity by empowering women with sustainable forest crops 🌱 Direct and indirect educational opportunities on topics including tree care and maintenance, agroforestry best practices and businesses 🌱 Reduce migration and displacement due to jobs or climate change, which places a disproportionate vulnerability and burden on women We planted another 1,000 trees with partner Conserve Natural Forests in Mae Hong Son, Thailand, where 80% of the staff are women. Thank you team CNF! #womensequalityday #reforestation #sustainabilitydevelopmentgoals #genderequality

Happy World Plant Milk Day! Do you factor sustainability into the milk you use, or the milk(s) provided at your office coffee station or cafe/restaurant? Do you have a favorite? It's no surprise that cow's milk is far less sustainable than all the plant milks available, but which plant milk is the most sustainable? There is some variation in the data available when additional factors are applied like land use and deforestation, GMOs, pesticides, packaging, and transporation to the consumer; but we started with water use and emissions in production. Climate action challenge: switch to a more sustainable milk. #worldplantmilkday #plantmilk #plantmylk #climateaction #themoreyouknow #climateactionchallenge

5 facts about orangutans on International Orangutan Day 1. The name 'orangutan' translates from the Malay language to 'man of the forest'. 2. Orangutan young stay with their mothers for up to eight years - longer than any other great ape. 3. Orangutans are the world's largest tree-dwelling mammal, spending nearly their entire lives living and sleeping in trees. They cannot survive without trees. 4. A century ago, more than 230,000 orangutans lived in forests all across south-east Asia. Today they're only found on two islands: Sumatra and Borneo. There are fewer than 120,000 orangutans left in the wild. 5. The single biggest threat to orangutans is rapid deforestation, mainly due to palm oil and other agricultural plantations. We support reforestation projects that include habitat corridor restoration for the many species that rely on intact forests for their survival. For the past couple of months, our globally distributed team has relied on virtual meetings and online collaboration to move our work forward. But this week, we were finally able to get everyone together in the same room to dive deep into an exciting new project. The energy in that room was palpable - you could feel the passion as we all settled in, ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Even though we come from diverse backgrounds, we work together like a well-oiled machine, with each person bringing their own unique skills and talents to the table. With our eyes firmly on the prize, we were pumped to make some serious progress. It was so energizing to be a bunch of passionate people, side-by-side, going after the same goal. The in-person collaboration was invaluable, and I'm confident that with this team's collective expertise, we're going to knock this project out of the park. #GlobalTeam #ProjectKickoff #InPersonCollaboration #TeamEnergy #PassionateExperts
