To kick off National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, the Lead Poisoning Prevention Program joined forces with our partners in the Leadsafecny Coalition to hold a press conference and raise awareness of lead poisoning in our community! During the press conference, we were able to highlight the work the LeadSafeCNY Coalition and its partner agencies have done to promote blood lead testing, educate families on lead poisoning prevention, and to train contractors on using lead-safe work practices. We have come a long way in addressing lead poisoning, but there is still more work to do! As part of the LeadSafeCNY Coalition, we will continue to work alongside our partners to reduce the rates of childhood lead poisoning in our community. We are so grateful for all of our partners who helped to make the press conference a success: The Leadsafecny Coalition, Syracuse Community Health, Families for Lead Freedom Now Inc, Central New York Community Foundation, Early Childhood Alliance, United Way of Central New York, the City of Syracuse - Office of the Mayor, and the Onondaga County Executive! #NLPPW2024 #LeadFreeKids
