When faced with a flood of security alerts, effective prioritization is crucial to avoid breaches. That's where the Exploit Prediction Scoring System (EPSS) comes in 📊 The blog breaks down the EPSS model—how it's calculated, its benefits, limitations, and how it stacks up against CVSS. Learn how EPSS can help your security teams focus on vulnerabilities most likely to be exploited to ensure better risk management and faster remediation. Opus Security reposted this
My first time embarking into the CVE nightmare zone, my CISO asked for a list of “all the highs and criticals, and when they’ll be fixed.” This mentality is still widespread, and is at its core correct - we want to find all our high risk items, and get them fixed as soon as possible. However, over the years I’ve realized the complexity of fulfilling that simple request - knowing what’s actually important to get fixed. In this weeks article I use Opus Security's prioritization framework and vulnerability intelligence to dissect some of the considerations that go into a rather a simple question - what should I fix?
