We are excited to announce that Orange Bike Brewing Company has brought home two medals from the 2024 Great American Beer Festival – a silver for our Oktoberfest and a bronze for our flagship Pilsner! 🍻✨ In our first year of operation and debut appearance at GABF, being recognized at this prestigious event is a true honor. This achievement reflects the dedication, hard work, and passion of our incredible team, and we couldn’t have done it without the support of our community. 🧡✨ We also want to congratulate all the extraordinary breweries that participated, especially our fellow Maine brewery, Allagash Brewing Company, for their well-deserved wins. We’re proud to be part of such a talented and inspiring community. Here’s to continuing our mission of brewing world-class, naturally gluten-free beer while championing sustainability, social equity, and community impact. Celebrating National Black Brewers Day Today, we honor the contributions of Black brewers in shaping the craft beer industry, past and present. On October 10, 1970, Theodore A. (Ted) Mack, Sr. became the first Black brewery president in U.S. history by purchasing Peoples Brewing Company, marking a pivotal moment in the beer industry history. We also recognize the continued efforts of the National Black Brewers Association and local leaders like City Councilor Pious Ali for designing National Black Brewers Day around the country and in the City of Portland, Maine. This day serves as a reminder of the progress made and the work that still lies ahead to build a more inclusive beer community. Visit the National Black Brewers Association to learn more and support these initiatives. #NationalBlackBrewersDay #BlackBrewersDay #CraftBeer

Those in Portland looking for something to do this evening should join us to celebrate Ange and her beautiful craft for the first Friday art walk. Please share this with those who may be interested. Thank you! First Friday Art Walk: Ange Muhorakeye Friday, September 6, 2024 5:00 PM 8:00 PM Orange Bike Brewing Company Born in a refugee camp in Burundi, Rwanda, Ange learned the art of basket weaving from her nyogokuru (grandmother) and mama (mother). Five years ago, Ange decided to leave Rwanda and move to the United States. At the airport in Rwanda, her mother passed her a package of grasses with a needle and thread and sent her off with the parting words, “Do not forget our culture.” Join us in our Taproom tonight to learn about Ange and her craft!

We had an incredible weekend celebrating the National Black Brewers Association (NB2A) event! A huge thank you to the One Pint Film and NB2A team for flying out and to everyone in Maine who joined us. Your support means the world to us. This event is just the beginning of our journey. We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the NB2A, with the ambitious goal of establishing Maine’s first Black-owned brewery. 🍻 Together, we aim to foster community engagement and make a lasting impact. A special shoutout to our community partners The Third Place - Maine and Black Travel Maine for collaborating to create such a special event, Indigo Oysters for the oyster shucking and demos, and our corporate sponsors, Visit Portland, Unum, and Allagash Brewing Company. Join us in fostering an inclusive craft beer community! In collaboration with The Third Place - Maine and Black Travel Maine (Lisa Parham Jones), we are thrilled to announce a special event from July 19th to 20th in support of the National Black Brewers Association (NB2A). As part of this event, we are proud to premiere the documentary film 'One Pint at a Time' by acclaimed director Aaron Hosé, MFA. This powerful film highlights the Black experience in American craft beer, and we're excited to share it with you. 📍 Event Details: Date: July 19th-20th, 2024 Happy Hour and Bottle Share: July 19th, 4:00-8:00 PM @ Orange Bike Brewing Company (open to the public) Screening and Panel Discussion: July 20th, 3:00-5:30 PM @ Toad&Co (accessible via the Orange Bike beer garden) 🎟 Ticket Information for 'One Pint at a Time' Premiere: Platinum ($100): Reserved seating, a free food and beverage combo, plus a 4-pack of Orange Bike beer to go Gold ($50): Includes a free food and beverage combo General Admission ($10): General admission for the screening and panel discussion with the NB2A Board Craft beer generates over $32 billion annually for the US economy. Despite beer’s Egyptian and African heritage, these traditions have been mostly forgotten and are rarely found in American brewing culture. Today, Black-owned breweries comprise less than 1% of the 9,000 breweries in operation. Eager to shift the historical perception of who makes and drinks beer, Black brewers, brand owners, and influencers nationwide are reshaping the craft beer industry and the future of America’s favorite adult beverage. Your support will make a difference as we strive to drive systemic change in the craft beer industry. Cheers, Orange Bike Brewing Company
