The United Nations Foundation is spearheading a bold vision for the future—one where young people play a pivotal role in shaping global governance. At the United Nations Summit of the Future, we brought together inspiring young leaders to reimagine how we can tackle critical challenges like climate change, inequality, and more, while fostering powerful intergenerational dialogue.
At one of the summit’s standout side events, ‘Power in Her Voice: Reimagining a Gender Equal Future,’ we witnessed a dynamic, action-focused conversation led by girls demanding the change they deserve—equal access to education, safety from violence, control over their bodies, and immediate climate action. These aren’t just aspirations; they’re fundamental rights that will create a world where every girl can thrive.
The event also premiered the Afghan Dreamers Trailer—a powerful story of resilience and hope, showcasing Afghan girls breaking barriers and inspiring the world. Featuring: Rina Amiri, Naria Santa Lucia, Roya Mahboob, Ayda Haydarpour, Nilab Ibrahimy, Batool Behnam, Shai Naides, Joan Kembabazi, Saru Duckworth, Inés Yábar , and many more!
Girls are no longer content to be sidelined—they’re stepping up, driving real change, and shaping the global agenda. This event is only the beginning, setting the stage for global leaders to rise to the challenge and ensure girls’ voices create lasting, impactful outcomes.
