Thanks to the generosity of our donors and members we are able to offer free admission all day, July 4, 2024. We will be open for free from 10 AM - 5 PM this Thursday for Free First Thursday. There’s an undeniable relationship between The Museum of Flight of Flight, SEA Airport, and the history of aviation in our region. What better way to celebrate 75 years than at the largest independent, nonprofit air and space museum in the world! On July 13, come watch a series of mini-documentaries about the airport and hear from past and present airport representatives in The Museum of Flight’s William M. Allen Theater. Museum of Flight exhibition celebrates 150 years of space station dreams and realities: Aurelia Institute's TESSERAE tiles are featured in the The Museum of Flight's new Home Beyond Earth exhibit, alongside NASA artifacts, a 3D-printed ISS model, and interactive displays. "It’s incredibly meaningful for us, because our mission at Aurelia is to democratize access to space, and show more people around the world that there is a life in space worth living for them,” says Ariel Ekblaw. UK Civil Service/ Independent Councillor /Founder of Multi national Concorde Tour Group/Team Building & Networking
It was exactly Five years ago today, myself along with former staff members from British Airways Concorde Engineering, volunteers from Brooklands Museum, Aerospace Bristol and my good friend, Fred Finn, the Guinness Certified World’s Most Travelled Person, were at BA headquarters at Waterside as the guests of Victoria Madden at British Airways, before we all departed from Heathrow Terminal Five, bound for Seattle to begin our Concorde Fiftieth Anniversary U.S Tour which I had put together over the previous several months. As with all of the Concorde tours I've arranged since 2017, we would be using our preferred travel partner & airline British Airways & British Airways Holidays for this supersonic trip. This fantastic trip and experience would see my Concorde travel group take in 3 Concordes, 2 Space Shuttles, 2 SR71’s and the actual Apollo 11 capsule. I even managed time to visit the final resting place of the late martial arts master, Bruce Lee whilst in Seattle. We visited British Airways Concorde G-BOAG at the The Museum of Flight Seattle, Air France Concorde F-BVFA at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center Smithsonian Washington Dulles (without a doubt the best-preserved Concorde in the World IMHO) and finally the World Record Holder, Concorde G-BOAD at the Intrepid Museum on the Hudson River, New York. I must thank all of those who made this trip so special, Ted Huetter, Senior P.R manager at The Museum of Flight Seattle, Eric Boehm, Intrepid Air & Space Museum, New York, Victoria Madden and the staff at BA Waterside and of course the wonderful crew on our British Airways flight from Heathrow to Seattle for really looking after us. It was a truly unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience, with a wonderful group of lifelong friends all brought together by the enduring legacy, wonder, and dare I say love of this inspirational one-of-a-kind machine, the undisputable Queen of the skies……… Concorde From the future, operated in the past…… British Airways British Airways Holidays Airbus Heathrow Rolls-Royce BRISTOL AERO COLLECTION TRUST Aerospace Bristol Brooklands Museum Intrepid Museum The Museum of Flight Hadley Bourne.
