Last week, we hosted our monthly Knowledge Management Community meeting - exploring the key topic of Measuring KM Effectiveness 📈 . 🎉 Thanks to all that joined and contributed to the conversation. 🎉 Key takeaways include: 💬 Be a storyteller: Since quantitative data is hard to collect when it comes to KM effectiveness, elevate the stories that highlight how employees benefit from your initiatives. 👯 Find a sponsor: Having support from “the powers that be” can lead to increased buy in and resources for data collection. 📊 Know what you’re measuring: Don’t try to capture all the data - just the data you need. Focus on the KPIs that are most meaningful and actionable. What did we miss? Share your thoughts in the comments! AI isn’t just a tool — when human intuition partners with AI, we unlock unmatched innovation and efficiency. We had the opportunity to co-write this piece alongside the brilliant Jun Chen, VP of IT and Security at Glassdoor, who has had a career in keeping company knowledge safe. As Jun shared in our recent PairUp webinar: “Harnessing AI in the workplace is like watching a very well choreographed dance, where AI and humans move in harmony to create that seamless and powerful performance." This article breaks down how the human-AI duo is reshaping knowledge sharing and driving businesses forward. Take a read, and let us know what you think! A few key take-aways: 🧠 It's not just about capturing knowledge, but figuring out how to transfer the knowledge to others ♻️ You need to create feedback loops so you know what knowledge gaps currently exist 💭 There's a big difference between explicit, implicit, and tacit knowledge - and you have to design for all three 👯 When people connect - they share knowledge Click here to watch the webinar, and learn more from this incredible group of experts: https://lnkd.in/et-gXdHQ A big thank you to Adam T. for moderating, and to Iris McQuillan-Grace (SPHR), Cynthia Brind'Amour, Badou Bousso and Jonathan Geibel for sharing your wisdom.

We can’t control when people leave a company - but we can prepare. Here are a few tips to experiment with on your teams: 🧠 1. Storing knowledge isn’t enough, we need to manage it. It takes a commitment to keeping your data updated to assure accessibility. Invest in knowledge managers to make sure that when people need information, it’s at their fingertips. 📣 2. Build a sharing culture. People shouldn’t be gatekeepers of knowledge, but they are also really busy and need to be encouraged to share regularly. Create opportunities for people to share what they are working on and what/why decisions were made. 💬 3. Capture tacit knowledge. Invest in tools to help capture what doesn’t make it into documentation - with attributions to the staff to reward them for their contributions. To learn more about how we can retain critical employee knowledge, join us at our next webinar: Capturing Knowledge: Strategies for Preserving Enterprise Expertise Wednesday, September 25, 2024 9am PST | 12pm ET RSVP: https://lnkd.in/gmCEmQSh

There's nothing better than talking to an amazing room full of inspiring founders -- and drinking bubble tea together! It was an honor to speak at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) + Graham & Walker AI Loft event this week alongside the incredible Lily Yuen Xu, Kate Doerksen, and Amelia Lin. It was a nice break from the daily startup grind and a good opportunity to reflect on some of our learnings growing PairUp. A few quick take-aways from our discussion: 💡 Storytelling grounds you in your "why" as a founder, centering the way you pitch to others. 📊 It's a numbers game. Get comfortable with hearing "no" from investors and customers. At the end of the day, you only need a few people to say "yes". 🤝 Remember that you're choosing an investor as much as they are choosing you. Finding investors who feel aligned with your larger "why" can change everything. Big thanks to Divya Kakkad for the invitation to speak and for the way that you and your amazing team at Graham & Walker are supporting the next generation of female founders! 🙌
