About us
Parents Alliance Employment Project has existed since 1982. It is unique in that it was parent initiated and operated for many years staffed solely by parent volunteers. This network of parents became proactive when the only employment option for their developmentally disabled young adults was a sheltered workshop. They fought for mainstreaming their children in the public school system and community integration. PAEP has been emphasizing integrated work with supports into businesses long before the national trend! Services provided by PAEP are based on the philosophy that all individuals have the right to work in the communities in which they live. PAEP provides a variety of programs and services to individuals with developmental disabilities including career counseling, job training and preparation, job development, job placement, and job coaching and follow-up. Each of the unique services assists individuals with disabilities develop secure career plans, enter into and retain community employment

The time has come for the first round of Employment Planning Meetings (EPMs) for our Project SEARCH program at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital! 🎉 Our interns have been hard at work creating PowerPoint presentations to share their journeys with their families. During these meetings, they take the spotlight, showcasing their experiences and growth. These EPMs are a fantastic opportunity for interns to share their progress and receive valuable feedback. After their presentations, our dedicated employment specialist will review each intern’s self-evaluation and insights from their mentors, followed by setting new goals to achieve before the next EPM. We’re so proud of our interns and can’t wait to see all they will accomplish! 💪✨ #ProjectSEARCH #InternshipSuccess #NorthwesternMedicine #OurAlliance #PAEP
