Partners for Educational Leadership reposted this
Since its inception as the CT Center for School Change, Partners for Educational Leadership has supported systemwide instructional leaders. Over two decades ago, we launched the SIIP (Systemic Instructional Improvement Program) Network to support the leaders of teaching and learning. Over the years, this assistant superintendent community of practice has focused on both strategy and community. Regarding strategy, the community has attempted to support these leaders in guiding the large-scale improvement of learning across an entire district. In terms of community, the effort is reducing the separation and isolation among system leaders, creating a role-alike network that can share resources, troubleshoot dilemmas, and lift the occasional spirit. “As assistant superintendents, we have a specific lens of influence, and having a community of practice to rely on fosters a shared understanding and offers essential support as we navigate our challenges.” Read more on how my colleagues Kerry Lord and Kath Serino guide this critical community of leaders.
