There is a universal guideline that every machine learning engineer follows: "Good (Clean) data leads to a Good (Stable) model." At PatentAssist.ai, we fine-tune and prompt-tune a variety of large language models (LLMs) to produce high-quality techno-legal documentation, specifically patent drafts. To achieve sufficient accuracy and stability during the fine-tuning of our claims generation models, Sukhada Hanumante, one of our machine learning engineers, helped clean and preprocess unstructured patent documents into structured JSON format. This process involved organizing the text according to legal guidelines and best practices. Read the article to see how she developed a local text generation pipeline using LLaMA 3.1 8B for fine-tuning to preprocess the data. #Patent #IP #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #LLM #Llama
Unstructured and messy text data often poses challenges while fine-tuning text generation pipeline. Traditional rule-based text cleaning methods often fail as they do not understand the nuances of a language. Therefore, at PatentAssist.AI we are working on using Meta's Llama 3.1 8B model for pre-processing text dataset and preparing it for fine-tuning a text generation pipeline. Using this technique, we have processed and cleaned over 3000 patent drafts to create a training dataset. Here is an article explaining our work. #LLMs #HuggingFace #Llama3.1 #PatentAssist.AI

Quick reminder for all the startup founders in my network: NEVER publish details about your technology unless ... (a) you've filed a patent, or (b) you're 100% sure you'll never need a patent. You won't believe how many founders come to me after their investor has asked "do you have patents?", but we can't do much because they've given their competitive edge away for everyone to copy. Be a clever founder and talk to someone who knows the game. I invite you to book a 20 minute virtual coffee with me. Link below my tagline.
