We are thrilled to announce our seventh annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Day of Service. Each year, PAYETTE embarks on a pro bono, collaborative effort to make our design services accessible to local communities. The Day of Service includes a full day workshop where PAYETTE teams brainstorm and iterate design solutions with input from each community partner. We delight in the diversity of community partners and scales of projects that we are able to support, ranging from urban-scale master plans to façade improvements to interior renovations. "There was an atmosphere of homecoming and celebration at the Women's Leadership Summit in Boston. There were celebrations of how far we had come, and an understanding that there is still room to grow as a profession. I left certain it was the electric energy of all the collective women in the room that would inspire the growth that we all need. I am fortunate to be a small part of it." - Shreeyah Shakya We are thrilled to support the mission of the 2024 Women's Leadership Summit as a Contributing Sponsor. We look forward to connecting with our greater community in Chicago in just a few weeks! More information on registration for this extraordinary event can be found here: https://lnkd.in/endHYjv3

The Bonney Science Center at Bates College is an exploration of contemporary expression in deep dialogue with the context of a traditional New England college campus. Working with this scale of model, we studied the expression of the roof form to recall the traditional campus contextual elements such as gables and dormers in a new way. The new building is both part of the campus fabric and a contemporary addition to the panoply of roof forms, with its own singular identity. Read more of our thoughts on respecting the campus fabric here: https://lnkd.in/eFrSbTc9

The return of students to campuses across the country has us thinking about the meaning of campus and the act of placemaking. This month, we'll engage in a series of conversations about our work at the campus scale. At the University of Hartford, the 60,000 square foot new Hursey Center for Advanced Engineering and Health Professions occupies the center of campus, inserting itself to the middle of the iconic Main Academic Green and seamlessly blending into the landscape.
