Through PBL, students engage in learning that is deep, long-lasting, and relevant to the challenges of their lives and the world they will inherit. Research confirms this. Our services, tools, and research are designed to build the capacity of K-12 teachers to design and facilitate quality Project Based Learning, and the capacity of school leaders to create a culture for teachers to implement great projects with all students. We are current and former educators with experience in PBL and deep respect for teachers. Our latest blog post, "The Absent Protocol: A Collaborative Approach to Catching Up in a PBL Classroom," authored by our National Faculty member, Joe Grit, is live! Many of us have found ourselves in a challenging situation: a student has been absent, and now the task of catching them up looms large. Often, it results in rushed explanations and missed learning opportunities. However, Joe found his experience taking an inspiring turn when a frustrated student reached out via email, frustrated about not getting enough time to catch up. This thoughtful communication led Joe to develop the Absent Protocol, a collaborative protocol that empowers students to catch up effectively while fostering a sense of ownership in their learning. What is "Gold Standard" PBL? Based on more than 20 years of experience supporting Project Based Learning and drawing from an extensive literature review, we created a "gold standard" for PBL in 2015. As PBL became more popular, we wanted to ensure it was done well and didn't simply become a passing trend. The Gold Standard PBL model encompasses two valuable guides for educators: 1) Seven Essential Project Design Elements provide a framework for developing high quality projects for your classroom, and 2) Seven Project Based Teaching Practices help teachers, schools, and organizations improve, calibrate, and assess their practice. 🎥 Watch Gold Standard Project Based Learning in action here: https://lnkd.in/eJGWMSSv
