I know I don't post here often, but this felt worth sharing. Yesterday, Vermeer MV Solutions' Christopher Ballani and Luke Hardaway greeted those able to come in to work with comforting words and a determination to make a positive difference in the tough times we Upstate South Carolinians face after Hurricane Helene. They were able to organize a lunch grill-out complete with hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks, and even cookies-!! Having been out of power since Friday, it was a blessing to have some hot food, especially provided by my own workplace. We even had enough that I could take home to my husband. The blessings continued when I went to clock out, and each worker was being given a case of water brought incredibly swiftly to us by our Fastenal branch. This means a LOT to me, since I'm among those who don't have water right now. Many thanks to Vermeer management, for showing that #vermeercares for their people. As this posts, our managers and HR gather to serve us a hot lunch yet again, and with another opportunity for those in need to take home much needed provisions.

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, our team is coming together to support those impacted by these storms. We're proud to partner with Buchanan Hauling, Buchanan Logistics, and Millers All Day for a donation drive to "Fill the Trucks". Together, we worked to fill 20 trucks with non-perishable items and essential supplies to help families in need during this difficult time. We collected toiletries, socks, work gloves, diapers, pet supplies, non-perishable food, bottled water, and more. This is the PTR way. www.rentptr.com #hurricanesupport #hurricanerelief #hurricanehelene #hurricanemilton #fillthetrucks #support #teamwork #rentptr #ptrway

The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission last week approved two 345-kV transmission projects to improve the reliability and affordability of energy delivery across the Midwest region. Kim Riley reports for Daily Energy Insider. “What we approved today will return approximately $2.60 in benefits to Minnesota ratepayers for every dollar we spend, primarily in fuel savings and reduced generation costs,” said Minnesota Commissioner Joseph Sullivan. “Transmission is the most inexpensive part of the electric system because it enables ratepayers access to low-cost generation and makes the system more efficient.” #powerdelivery #powerindustry #energyindustry #powergrid #infrastructure #transmissionlines #powergeneration #GridReliability #criticalinfrastructure #construction #power #electricity #gridmodernization #PCCA https://lnkd.in/emN4PEEJ

Holtec International has closed a $1.5 billion loan and completed all major licensing submittals to support the restart the Palisades nuclear plant in Covert Township, Mich., the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced this week. The company hopes to restart the plant by the end of 2025, making it the first reactor restart in U.S. history. Spencer Littleford Kimball reports for CNBC. "'We’ve been using all of the tools in our tool belt to support the nuclear energy sector, keep reactors online, and to bring them back, and to finance advanced reactor deployment as well,' David Turk, deputy secretary at the Department of Energy, told reporters on a call ahead of the announcement. "Electricity demand is expected to increase about 15% over the next few years as artificial intelligence drives the need for data centers and domestic manufacturing continues expanding, Turk said." #powerindustry #energyindustry #NuclearEnergy #nuclearpower #nuclearpowerplant #cleanenergy #renewablepower #powergeneration #power #electricity #powerdelivery #AI #datacenter #criticalinfrastructure #construction #PCCA https://lnkd.in/e2meFWvT
