If all (but one) our portfolio companies have a YouTube channel, the one that really stands out (nb of videos & nb of followers) is Kebony's. Have a look for example at this stunning clip from 2023, telling the story about Pier 26 on Hudson River in New York City. It represents the perfect example of what you can do in 4mn to celebrate the quality of a product. Historical videos from the 70s and 80s. Beautiful drone shots and superb editing. Qualitative short interviews with stakeholders. It both captures the spirit of NYC and the essence of Kebony. From a decayed waterfront to a dazzlingly beautiful and sustainable promenade. Photos of a transformation are great, but the story behind the transformation is always more interesting. This is the perfect example of that!
Nearing completion of this remarkable transformation, Springdale Green reimagines the conventional workplace environment by transforming and healing a 30-acre former petrochemical tank farm into an environmentally conscious office campus — reestablishing native meadows, woodlands, and an urban creek tributary. Designed to be immersive and engaging, an elevated boardwalk forms a continuous meandering loop that leads tenants and guests through the campus’ various eco-zones. Seeking both LEED Gold and Sustainable SITES Gold certification, this project aims to be a model for urban ecology and sustainable development in Austin. Rainwater and A/C condensate is reclaimed and stored in an underground cistern, and the site’s rain gardens and bio-retention basin are designed to address stormwater not only for the campus but also to reduce flooding in the surrounding neighborhood. We are honored and excited to announce that St. John Encampment Commons has won the prestigious Urban Land Institute Austin Impact Award for Best Public Place. This recognition is a testament to the dedication and vision behind this project that transformed a former mall parking lot into 2.4-acre urban park that serves as a gateway to the ACC Highland Campus. St. John Encampment Commons was designed to honor the site’s rich history, which dates back to the late 19th century when the land was used by the St. John Baptist Association, an African American community, for annual gatherings and educational purposes.
