To all our old friends and new friends, Phazebreak will participating in the Wind Energy event in Hamburg at the end of September. We would love to have a conversation on how NEINICE can help you recoup MW and revenue that is lost every winter. Just because that’s the way it’s always been, doesn’t mean it has to stay that way. Embrace the technology and let us help you be a hero and improve your companies performance.     Reach out to Matiss Sivins or Dave Rupp for an appointment.   Matiss.sivins@phazebreak.com Dave.Rupp@phazebreak.com

It's a hard truth: Rain can't clean solar panels alone. Rainfall is difficult to predict, and deposits of dust, dirt, and other contaminants can actually undergo a process called "cementation" when exposed to water. This can lead to a simple dusting issue turning into a nightmare like the one in this post—the operator is left with no choice but to resort to chemical cleaning. Maintaining a consistent cleaning schedule for your PV modules is essential to avoid these issues; however, these cleanings can be costly. That's where Phazebreak Coatings' product, SURFACE SLIP, comes in. By adding an extra layer of hydrophilic, self-cleaning protection to the surface of solar panels, operators can reduce the need for frequent deep cleans. SURFACE SLIP works as a barrier against the binding of dirt, dust, fungus, and other debris to your PV module. The #solar industry has made great strides in improving the efficiency of solar panel cleaning. PV modules are constantly at risk of soiling, leading to sub-optimal performance. These performance drops can range from 5% to 50% in total energy generation. As with wind turbine maintenance, robotic cleaning solutions provide a low risk, consistent, and efficient means of keeping panels clean. But what if you could prevent the build-up before it happened? Phazebreak Coatings' aims to do just that. Our SURFACE SLIP coating is a hydrophilic, self-cleaning solution that can be easily applied to PV modules, preventing the anchoring of dirt, grime, debris, and fungus that otherwise prevent solar farms from performing at their full potential. Great example of how dirty solar panels are beeing cleaned in Scotland! The problem is the same worldwide no matter if you are in Europe, the US, LATAM etc.. panels get dirty from various soiling sources: Birds, pollen, Sahara sand, industrial pollution, etc.. Rain will not help much keeping your valuable solar assets clean! Awesome video! Operators know that icing on wind turbines continues to cause heavy losses in the #windenergy industry. But just how big are those losses? Let's look at ice's effect on a medium-size wind turbine. The typical 4MWh turbine generates only 35% of the 4MWh •24 hours x 365 days = 8,760 hours per year •4MW x .35 x 8760 = 12,264 MWh/year Estimated Losses by Condition 1. LOW ICING CONDITIONS Loss: 1-5% of annual output. MWh Loss: Minimum: 12,264 x 0.01 = 123 MWh/year Maximum:12,264 x 0.05 = 613 MWh/year At an average sell price of 1 MWh at $50 your losses are between $6150 - $30,650 2. MEDIUM ICING CONDITIONS Loss: 5-15% of annual output. MWh Loss: Minimum: 12,264 x 0.05 = 613 MWh/year Maximum: 12,264 x 0.15 = 1,839 MWh/year At an average sell price of 1 MWh at $50 your losses are between $30,650 - $91,950   3. HIGH ICING CONDITIONS Loss: 15-25% of annual output. MWh Loss: Minimum:12,264 x 0.15 = 1,839 MWh/year Maximum: 12,264 x 0.25 = 3,066 MWh/year At an average sell price of 1 MWh at $50 your losses are between $91,950 - $153,300 Phazebreak Coatings patented NEINICE coating has been shown to mitigate ice accumulation on turbine blades, improving energy output and revenue for each coated turbine. Phazebreak Coatings, in cooperation with an operator in the midwest has performed the first North American application of NEINICE on PV modules. NEINICE is an icephobic, impact-resistant, and self-cleaning coating. The coating is designed to mitigate ice build-up, repel hail impact in excess of 67 miles per hour, and protect panels from dust, soil, and fungus year-round.
