The PHILLIPS community benefits your community. Since 1967, PHILLIPS has provided a place where children left behind in traditional settings can get the support and education they need to become successful, responsible adults. Our children’s lives have been colored by a variety of personal and environmental circumstances, so we tailor our approach to address each child’s unique situation. We give our students and their families every advantage: PHILLIPS provides a fresh start, helping children develop critical life skills so they too can enjoy respect, acceptance and personal achievement. 🚀𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 🌱 In 2014, Agritecture’s first-ever client was PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families—we designed a vertical farm and a hydroponic curriculum to give students hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture. What started as an educational initiative has now evolved into something much bigger. Now, in 2025, they are scaling up! 🎉 ✅ Launching a 2,000 sq. ft. indoor hydroponic farm in Laurel, Maryland ✅ Developing three high-tech greenhouses in Fairfax County, Virginia ✅ Creating jobs & career pathways for people facing employment barriers ✅ Transitioning farms to employee ownership for long-term wealth-building ✅ Partnering with PHILLIPS to offer internships & apprenticeships for students and alumni This isn’t just about growing food—it’s about growing opportunities for people who need them most. 💡 That’s why I’m honored to receive the Community Engagement Award from PHILLIPS Programs on April 5th in Washington, DC.
