  • Piedmont is thrilled to support the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CCID) and the recent opening of the Akers Mill Ramp Express Lanes. This further expands the accessibility to Galleria on the Park for both our tenants and the public. In addition, we would like to highlight Alex Valente, our EVP Southeast Region and a Board Member of the CCID. Thank you for all the work you do within our local community!

    Today the Cumberland Community Improvement District cut the ribbon on the Akers Mill Ramp! “The anticipated Akers Mill Ramp Express Lanes opening is a landmark achievement for the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID),” said Bob Voyles, Chairman of the Cumberland CID Board of Directors. “This significant infrastructure investment by our commercial property owners and partners will give commuters a direct access point in and out of the heart of the Cumberland market, completing the successful I-75 NW Corridor Express Lanes. This partnership marks another feather in the cap for the Cumberland community, for Cobb County, and the Atlanta metro region." Thank you to all the partners who helped deliver this project which includes Georgia Department of Transportation, Cobb County Government, State Road & Tollway Authority, Atlanta Regional Commission, and U.S. Department of Transportation. The Akers Mill Ramp is scheduled to be open to the public with a Peach Pass on January 24th for the afternoon commute.
