In honor of #NationalMedicalAssistantsWeek, meet Elizabeth. Elizabeth has worked for PIH Health for more than 17 years, starting her career as an intern at a PIH Health Urgent Care Center. Elizabeth is currently a medical assistant in the family medicine department at the PIH Health La Mirada medical office building. Elizabeth recalls being fresh out of school and feeling a bit apprehensive working alongside experienced clinical staff, fearing she wouldn’t be good enough. As her career at PIH Health progressed, the encouragement and guidance from her leaders and peers helped her gain confidence and believe that she too could provide the best care for patients and handle whatever challenges come her way. Elizabeth chose to work in the healthcare industry because she found strength in knowing that she is part of the medical community that can make a difference in the world. “It is the greatest gift to be able to support patients into achieving optimal health while also assisting my colleagues in whatever way I can so we can provide great care to the community,” she says. Thank you to Elizabeth and all our PIH Health medical assistants for continuing to put #PatientsFirst. Your hard work and dedication are always appreciated.
