About us
Piscataquis Regional Food Center (PRFC) gets food moving! Piscataquis Regional Food Center Adjusts Service Area to Focus on Core Communities Starting January 1, 2025, the Piscataquis Regional Food Center (PRFC) will focus its marketplace services exclusively on residents of Piscataquis County and the Dover-Foxcroft community. This adjustment, though difficult, ensures PRFC can continue to provide quality support to those most in need within their core service area. In 2025, residents of Dover-Foxcroft, Atkinson, and Bowerbank will be invited to shop at the Food Center marketplace twice monthly. All other residents of Piscataquis County will be invited to shop once per month. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gik-vjwi

PRFC is thrilled to announce that our Healthy Additions program was selected as part of AstraZeneca's Community Solutions Challenge to broaden our impact of advancing health equity in our community! This funding enables us to provide healthy foods to the people we serve, including more fresh fruits, greens, mushrooms, seeds and nuts. We are dedicated in helping shape a brighter and healthier future.
Today we announced $3.5M in financial contributions to support nonprofit programs across the US through our fourth annual Accelerate Change Together (ACT) on Health Equity: Community Solutions Challenge and National Strategic Collaborations. These investments fund 53 programs focused on healthcare access, social determinants like housing and nutrition, culturally competent chronic disease care, and expanding STEM education for historically excluded populations. Now in its fourth year, US ACT on Health Equity contributions have surpassed $15M, advancing AstraZeneca’s goal of sustainable change toward health equity. On behalf of the Food Center staff, volunteers, and the people we serve, THANK YOU Versant Power for your generous donation of funds to purchase a defibrillator! While we hope we never need to use it, having the ability to save a life is invaluable. Thank you! https://lnkd.in/g34ssqH9 #neighborshelpingneighbors #powerfuldonation

A change in supplier has led to a 200% price increase for canned tuna through our partner, Good Shepherd Food Bank. Your donation at www.prfoodcenter.org will help the Food Center purchase canned tuna for local families. Prefer to donate canned tuna? Non-expired cans of tuna may be dropped off at PRFC (76 North Street) Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. #givelocal #sorrycharlie #feedme
