On Tuesday, June 18, VisitPITTSBURGH, in partnership with the Pittsburgh Brewing Co, hosted the ALLEGHENY VALLEY N COUNCIL OF GVRNMNTS meeting made up of 11 municipalities located in the northeast corner of Allegheny County, along the Northern Allegheny Valley. The guest speaker for the meeting was Jerad Bachar, VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO. Bachar provided attendees with overviews of both the economic benefit of tourism in our region and the 10-year Tourism Development Plan, which includes more than 40 strategies and 80 unique action items that together form a roadmap for the development, management and marketing of tourism assets in Allegheny County. There were 25 attendees at the meeting including: State Representative Mandy Steele, State Representative Joe McAndrew, Iron City Distilling President Peter Katz, Allegheny Valley North COG Executive Director Rob Frank and various elected/municipal leaders throughout the area. Robert Vincent Frank remarked, “The presentation was excellent it was very beneficial as we work towards enhancing tourism opportunities in the Allegheny Valley North area. We especially appreciate the partnership between Pittsburgh Brewing Company and VisitPITTSBURGH.” Bachar added, “The VisitPITTSBURGH team works hard to build and strengthen Allegheny County’s tourism economy each day, collaborating with local elected officials like those in the Allegheny Valley North COG, along with State Representative’s Mandy Steele and Joe McAndrew is vitally important to generating tourism in our region.”
