PBFA and Food Solutions Action recently co-hosted an event in DC for Hill Staffers to raise awareness for plant-based foods. This gathering was a social for those interested in the plant-based foods industry to mix and mingle, learn about the work being done by PBFA and FSA, and encourage Hill staffers to join the Plant Based Staff Association. The event featured plant-based desserts and espresso martinis (shout out to PBFA member Oatly). More than 350 Hill staffers and a number of U.S. Representatives stopped by. This effort is part of our work to build the influence of the plant-based foods industry and foster meaningful connections to advance plant-forward initiatives. Thanks to all who attended! Together, we're cultivating a greener future. #PlantBased #CapitolHill #Sustainability #FoodInnovation #PBFA

#ClimateWeek NYC 2024 is approaching, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and investors to address our most pressing environmental challenges. This pivotal event shapes climate action across sectors - from energy and transportation to agriculture and beyond. 🌱 We're taking this moment to highlight the crucial role of plant-based solutions in combating climate change. Our food systems are responsible for one-third of global greenhouse emissions - and more than half of these emissions are sourced from animal agriculture: https://lnkd.in/eMu6irhb It is clear that a shift to plant-based foods is essential to curb climate change and support our planet. We have the information, we know the solution - now we need collective support to drive change. Join us on September 24 at NYC Climate Week for Food Day activities, educational panels, and to continue amplifying plant-based solutions for our environment. #ClimateWeekNYC #PlantBasedSolutions #SustainableInnovation

The PBFA presence was strong at recent National Conventions in Chicago and Milwaukee. Our policy team engaged with critical agriculture-focused events that took place during both national conventions, continuing to champion the political priorities of the plant-based foods industry. The plant-based food industry alone supports more than 55,000 higher-than-average paying jobs, providing $3.3 billion in income each year in the United States. Beyond the economic opportunity, plant-based foods are the climate and health solution that we need to thrive in the long term. Our team’s attendance at the national conventions built upon the growing momentum that our members worked hard to cement at our first-ever PBFA-wide Lobby Day held in June at the Capitol. We look forward to our continued engagement with key political stakeholders at future events.
