The Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) recently held its fourth Leadership, Education, and, Development (L.E.A.D.) program session at the #PodhurstOrseck office. The mother of 14-year-old Sewell Setzer III, who died by suicide, has filed a #wrongfuldeath lawsuit against Character Technologies Inc., the parent company of Character.AI, alleging that the app's hyper-sexualized chatbots targeted children, contributing to her son's emotional distress and addiction. The lawsuit claims that these interactions led to Sewell's withdrawal and suicidal ideation, culminating in his tragic death. #PodhurstOrseck’s Ramon Rasco, who wasn’t involved in the case, highlighted some of its upcoming hurdles, noting how, "It's a tragic case, and it is definitely something we'll see a lot more in the future because if the allegations alleged in the complaint are true, it shows that these AI technologies are much more addictive than social media." As the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees gear up for start of the 2024 World Series tonight, baseball fans around the world are in for a treat following a regular and post- season filled with palpable sports drama and plenty of historic moments. On Sept. 19, during the Dodgers vs. Miami Marlins Game at loanDepot Park, Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani hit his 50th home run and stole his 50th base of the season, becoming the first Major League Baseball (MLB) player to reach both milestones in the same season. Ohtani’s game also marked the first time in MLB history that a player hit three home runs and stole two bases in a single game. No stranger to celebrity representations, #PodhurstOrseck's Bob Josefsberg, along with attorneys Dustin Robinson and Jonathan Claussen, represented the rightful owner of the 50-50 ball and recently reached an agreement with all other parties involved in the litigation that the baseball can be sold free and clear of any legal claims against the future buyer.
