A team of 12 Prestolite professionals successfully completed a rigorous internal auditing training during the month of September. In this course, trainees learned various components of the IATF 16949:2016 standard and applied them to various functions in the business. The team consisted of individuals from the production, finance, IT, engineering, quality and purchasing functions of the business. Each team listened to in-depth lectures on the various clauses within the standard and then selected a function of the business to audit. Designer/drafter David Shriver stated that he “thoroughly enjoyed gaining a deeper understanding of the inner workings of different departments and how each business function supports others.” Senior Accountant Emily Slocum added, “It was rewarding to collaborate with individuals with varying levels of knowledge and expertise within the business. It opened my eyes to how internal auditing can pave the way for positive change!” Internal audits will be instrumental in ensuring Prestolite maintains IATF 16949:2016 compliance and an ongoing focus on continuous improvement!
