Pro Farm Group is proud to announce we are the recipient of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s Green Chemistry Challenge Award for RinoTec™ Technology in the category of the Design of Safer and Degradable Chemicals. This novel microbial-based technology is the active behind our newest pesticidal platform. Upon receiving the award in New York City on Thursday, September 26, Levon Sarkissian, Managing Director of North America for ProFarm Group, stated, “This revolutionary insecticide and nematicide is the first of its kind, providing farmers with a powerful new tool to protect their crops from pests that cause millions of dollars in losses each year.” RinoTec™ Technology is a new technology that provides activity on above and below-ground pests and will be available for use in products for row and specialty crops including corn, potatoes, tree nuts, and vegetables. “We are proud to contribute to a shared vision with the EPA for a healthier planet,” Sarkissian concluded. “This recognition inspires us to continue to push the boundaries of innovation and continue to develop technologies that are safer for farmers, families, and our planet.” Photo 1: RinoTec™ Technology & EPA Green Chemistry Seal Photo 2: ProFarm’s “RinoTec™ Technology” Team: JR Abele, Product Manager, Cole Pearson, Group Leader – Entomology, Ratnakar Asolkar, PhD, Group Leader – Chemistry. Bruce Wheeler, our Key Accounts Manager in California, is in the field again, checking in on the harvest of an Illustria onion demo. Onions were planted in January 2024 with monthly applications of Illustria at 16 fl. oz./A in February, March, & April. One foliar & two fertigation applications produced strong, uniform establishment, onion bulb density & rooting improvements along with decreased abiotic stress. Have you heard about our brand new patented nutrient technology, Illustria? Adding Illustria to the tank enhances conditions for increased nutrient update, resulting in plants that are more efficient. In 2023, in ‘Portola’ strawberries, applying Illustria increased marketable yields by 30%. The grower was struggling with a stressed crop so we applied Illustria foliarly at 16 fl. oz./A every 2 weeks to help address plant health & nutrition concerns including “J-Rooted” plants, slow growth, and weak plants. In these images you can see the Illustria difference! Location: Guadalupe, CA. #FromTheFieldFriday #strawberries #biologicals
