About us
Nutritious food is medicine for people facing illness. It can improve their health and well-being, help keep them out of the hospital, and decrease their medical costs. Unfortunately, many are too sick to get to the store or find they have to choose between food and medicine to make ends meet. That's why Project Angel Heart prepares and delivers medically tailored meals for Coloradans living with life-threatening illnesses. Each week, our professional chefs and registered dietitian prepare thousands of fresh meals and tailor them to meet the medical and dietary needs of those who are ill. Loving volunteers package and deliver each meal, free of charge, to neighbors living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, kidney/heart/lung disease, and other illnesses in Denver and Colorado Springs.

We're grateful for our continued partnership with the DaVita Giving Foundation! Their support of Project Angel Heart will provide more than 4,600 medically tailored meals to more than 650 clients living with severe illnesses like chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal failure. In addition to these meals, our clients will receive valuable nutrition education from our registered dietitians. We're proud to work alongside partners like the DaVita Giving Foundation and DaVita Kidney Care, who understand the power of #FoodIsMedicine!

Project Angel Heart and Feeding Colorado are excited to announce the creation of Food is Medicine Colorado (FIMCO), a statewide multi-stakeholder coalition aimed at enhancing the role of nutrition in health care and increasing access to medically tailored food and nutrition services for people living with (or at increased risk for) severe, complex, and/or chronic illnesses. We’re thrilled to welcome Kaiser Permanente as an inaugural member of FIMCO. Kaiser Permanente is a national leader in supporting food as medicine initiatives, making it one of their top priorities.
