“Then I heard….’repeat after me’” Look how we can equip our kids to remind each other of Who they are no matter what. And then, watch them draw from the storehouse in times they are tempted to think otherwise. “I knew it was a Project Lightwell bookmark, the moment he started reading it.”

Disrupting every dark circumstance with a child inside it.
About us
Project Lightwell exists to disrupt every dark circumstance with a child inside it. Using perfect words in perfect places, we paves the way for life-changing truth to reach children who feel alone & afraid. Through nominations, giving, & networking, PL partners speak a dignifying worth & value over children. PL currently provides jobs for women in India, who handmake fair-trade, organic, custom plushies. Founder, Kelly Carlson, designed the rabbits with LOVED in the ear and 'no matter what' in the paw. Our resounding message has literally crossed the seas, and 1000s of rabbits are waiting to choose a child just who needs a brighter space; a reminder of what is true no matter how dark is the dark. Why does this matter? Because the child who knows he/she is amazing, made brave, and loved no matter what, becomes the adult who is kind, confident, and whole. As a child is, a culture will become... and we see a future generation who projects light well. Will a rabbit change the world? no. But a word can change a heart and changed hearts will, for sure, change the world. Join us! You are invited, to disrupt the dark.

What an impact For the Kids - Milwaukee has in the lives of children! "On the last day of camp, our counselors selected the bunnies for their campers and presented them to express those thoughts and assurance of our love for them... I was on one of our buses riding home from camp, and I saw campers hugging their bunnies with tears in their eyes as they headed for home. It's hard to leave the joyfulness of camp and return to the uncertainties of the real world, but their little bunny was a warm and cozy friend to cling to." - L. Bly, Director

You don’t have to know much. You just have to believe a little. Then, usually a while later you begin to see how the pain you personally experience in your story, is this ugly but necessary ingredient to maintain the endurance needed to try disrupt thise same ugly fears & hurts in the lives of others. I’m not grateful for the hard parts. I am so thankful for how those hard parts bring validity to coming alongside hurting people. He we grow!

PL posts will be fewer in the summer months, thanks to my three favorite people being home. But this doesn’t mean PLs impact isn’t growing deeper and wider! Here are some highlights from the past two weeks! -brainstorming partnership with Ukraine orphan ministry -watching Festa serve such a beautiful pocket of Columbus community -sending bookmarks to a family to distribute in El Salvador -partnering with Milwaukee police for an annual community event -presenting to an entertainer for a future show benefit -and to a Florida optimist club who serves children. Here’s my favorite - a Spanish registration from a hostel: “They gave me my bunny because I have to wait to be with my mommy again.” One child, one word at a time. You are loved no matter what.
