Approaching its 10-year anniversary, Prop 47, which reclassified a number of drug and property offenses from felonies to misdemeanor, continues to be controversial and at the center of policy discussions in California. In our upcoming report, we examine possible crime rate impacts of Prop 47 and the pandemic-related criminal justice responses, both of which led to notable decreases in incarceration and enforcement.
