Apply for the #BlueBookTraineeship and join us at the Publications Office of the European Union! Curious about what it's like? Meet Natalia, one of our trainees, who brings a rich background in social sustainability and a drive to make a difference. Natalia studied languages and worked for ten years in the public sector in Sweden, supporting people in vulnerable conditions. Motivated by this experience, she pursued a master's in sustainability. She then spent nearly five years working in education in Romania, aiming to create opportunities for children at risk of discrimination and exploitation. Why did Natalia choose a #traineeship with us? She was drawn to EUR-Lex, the website that publishes the Official Journal and provides access to European Union law. ‘This traineeship offered me a unique opportunity to see the inner workings of the EU and to contribute to its mission’, Natalia explains. During her traineeship, Natalia found a great blend of giving and receiving. ‘I’ve had the chance to contribute to the service offered by the Publications Office, for example by facilitating workshops for colleagues from across the Office, testing EUR-Lex functionality, and making suggestions on the website. I was offered learning opportunities, finding out firsthand how EU institutions work, seeing them from the inside, and networking with colleagues working in them, such as the European Parliament, Court of Justice, and European Investment Bank. I also learned specific skills I was interested in, like web formats and how EU law is made and disseminated.’ Natalia states this traineeship has confirmed her determination to work at an institutional level in Luxembourg: ‘This experience has cemented my decision to continue working for the EU institutions. I am pleased that the trust is mutual, and the future looks bright for the collaboration to continue.’ Want to gain hands-on experience like Natalia?
