About us

The Puget Sound Grantwriters Association was founded by Goodwin Deacon in 1990, and became a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2000. So far as we know, we were the first successful grantwriters' organization in the United States. We still have the most active regional grantwriters' association in the country. In 2005 PSGA began offering bi-monthly meetings in Tacoma in addition to our Seattle meetings. PSGA members have free access to at least 10 such meetings each year. Today, we have some 300 members. We also present special events, including semi-annual Funders Forums, in-depth trainings and less-formal networking meetings. Our members' listserve is a vital source of information about grantwriting in the Northwest. We are pleased to support a vibrant community of grantwriters in the Puget Sound area. Mission: The Puget Sound Grantwriters Association promotes responsible, effective grantseeking and fosters connections among grantseekers, non-profits and funders. Vision: To create an engaged membership To develop excellent programs To strengthen the non-profit sector To improve our communities
