#Didyouknow that the first U.S. presidential poll to use modern statistical methods was a Gallup poll in 1936? But the first known presidential straw polls date back to 1824! These early polls were published by newspapers who reported the results as information about local opinions rather than possible predictions about how the national election might play out. These days, voters are inundated with polling results from a variety of sources. Take a look at a few things that our Policy team says you should keep in mind as you look at poll results ahead of the election, and visit https://lnkd.in/e9dnYCTQ to read our Policy team’s full election preview. #PyxisElectionInsights #Election2024

We’re #PyxisProud to see this inspiring documentary receive such an overwhelming positive reception! Kudos to the Reeve family, Will Reeve, Alexandra Reeve Givens, and Matthew Reeve, directors Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui, Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Studios, Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation CEO Maggie Goldberg, and all of the other contributors, including our very own President & CEO, Michael Manganiello, for shining a light on the life and legacy of Christopher Reeve. Like so many others who have dedicated their lives to advocating for health equity and diverse representation in biomedical research, the lasting impact of Christopher, Dana, and Michael’s work advocating for increased funding and resources for spinal cord research and disability rights is evident in the work that we do every day at Pyxis Partners. Michael has been a pioneering advocate for health equity and medical research throughout his career, and he feels incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to highlight his relationship with Chris and Dana in this documentary. Michael also had the opportunity to speak about his relationship with Dr. Anthony Fauci in the 2021 documentary “Fauci”, which highlighted the life and work of the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). To have intersected with these three incredible people in his life, Chris, Dana, and Dr. Fauci, is a stroke of good fortune that Michael does not take for granted. Prior to founding Pyxis Partners, Michael made significant contributions to the launch of the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation, including helping elevate the organization to national prominence. His leadership was instrumental in the passage of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Act and the Research Review Act, and the signing of Stem Cell Executive Order and Scientific Integrity Presidential Memorandum under President Obama, which removed restrictions on the use of federal funding for research involving embryonic stem cell lines, which have the potential to repair spinal cord injuries. Last year, Pyxis Partners worked with Ambassadors for the American Liver Foundation and members of its Board of Directors to schedule and prepare for meetings with 20 members of Congress, with the goal of elevating the voices of those impacted by liver disease, and ensuring that our nation’s leaders heard about this issue directly from their constituents. We remain steadfast in our commitment to enhancing health equity, access, and affordability, and our mission to advance policies and programs that result in positive change and improved health outcomes for everyone in the United States, and we were proud to be able to increase congressional awareness and support for bipartisan legislation that addresses equitable access to treatment and liver transplants. If you haven’t already, we encourage everyone to go see “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story”! https://lnkd.in/evNnbzuw

Thank you Jessica Alvarez and Center for Human Capital Innovation for a fun and educational facilitation workshop at our retreat. Our team is dedicated to continuous learning, especially when the learning is fun!
Last week, we "trained the trainers" at Pyxis Partners, working with their internal and community facilitators. As you can imagine, there were #toys and #games involved, with our own Jessica Alvarez showing how complex topics can be broken down into easy-to-digest games. Nothing, though, beat the hilarity that ensued during "Facilitation Charades" - check out our Part 2 post for some clips from that! #Training #Facilitation #TrainingAndFacilitation #Fun #Part1

#PyxisProud of Bobby Clark, who leads our policy, government relations, and advocacy practice, for presenting at last week's Scripius PBM Summit! He had the opportunity to dive into one of the most pressing issues in healthcare: ongoing policy reforms concerning drug prices and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). With 2024 shaping up to be a pivotal year, it’s clear that both federal and state-level reforms are on the horizon, and the outcomes could significantly impact how we think about #drugpricing and the role transparent #PBMs play in the healthcare ecosystem. We're encouraged by the important conversations being led by thoughtful partners and industry leaders like Scripius who are focused on making prescription drugs more affordable and accessible while maintaining innovation. Looking forward to continuing this work and helping our clients navigate the evolving policy environment.
