Let’s give women, obstetricians and midwives the best tools to make important decisions about how to give birth !

About us

Which mode of birth: Caesarean section or vaginal delivery? The aim of QUALI-DEC is to present a scientific research project, which aims to reduce the practice of non-medically justified caesarean sections by providing pregnant women, their families and healthcare professionals with non-clinical tools to guide their choice of the most appropriate mode of delivery. International in scope, it comprises a consortium of 9 countries and an intervention zone covering 4 target countries: Argentina, Burkina Faso, Thailand and Vietnam. It is funded by the European Commission (EC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The project is being carried out by a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare practitioners and researchers in the social and medical sciences. These specialists from all over the world contribute their knowledge and local studies to the project, enriching and refining it over time. This international team is led by Alexandre Dumont, the project's scientific coordinator.
