On this World Mental Health Day, I want to reflect on the incredible work being done across the world to make mental health care more compassionate and accessible. At Quartet Health, we're deeply committed to this mission, but it's about more than just systems and outcomes – it's about people, families, and communities. As I reflect on the powerful impact of our care teams, I am reminded of the profound stories that emerge from our work: I'm reminded of the important, life-changing care our Whole Health team provides to our patients with serious mental illness (SMI): Our team connected with an eligible patient – and within two days, our nurse practitioner was able to meet with them in their home and coordinate access to a dedicated therapist and social worker. With a series of follow-up appointments, our multidisciplinary care team provided personalized care, addressing the patient’s needs, spanning from general medical care to behavioral health care. I think about the courage shown by one of our members who even while facing self-harming behaviors, found immediate assistance from our clinical care navigator. Within just two days, this patient was connected to care with "the best [therapist] they've ever had." And of course, I reflect on my own personal experience on how difficult it can be to find the right care for loved ones, and what an amazing impact finding the right clinician can have on a loved one's well being. This day serves as a reminder of how crucial it is to continue to improve access to mental health services, so no one has to face those challenges alone. Today, I celebrate the progress that's been made in reducing stigma and increasing access to mental health services. At Quartet Health, we're proud to be part of this change. It's a time to recognize all those in the industry – clinicians, advocates, and organizations – who are pushing forward to ensure mental health is treated as an essential part of health care. #WorldMentalHealthDay #WMHD #MentalHealthMatters
