ARE ALL PLASTICS CREATED EQUAL??? Plastic bottles rank among the nation’s top-recycled materials, yet millions of tons of plastic end up in landfills each year. At Quincy Recycle, we work with businesses and manufacturers to divert recyclable Post-Industrial plastics from landfills and maximize the value of their plastic loads. Not all plastics are equally valuable to recycle: different types have fluctuating market prices and uses. However, customers can increase the value of their plastic loads by taking proactive steps in their waste streams. Each year, our customer service team gets together for a Learning & Development and team-building event. This year's gathering took place in Quincy, IL, bringing together over 40 team members from across five Midwestern states, representing both Quincy Recycle and Quincy Farm Products. The three-day event was filled with engaging presentations from various departments across our organization, a celebration of Quincy Recycle's 50 years of success and Quincy Farm Products' 10-year milestone, a lively LEGO-building challenge where each table had to build one of our Core Values, and a presentation on Change from Payne Schoen, CPA. The team also enjoyed fun games(note the costumes!), delicious food, and refreshments at Cedar Crest Country Club. Special shout out to the creative bunch who built a gym out of their Legos, representing Alive & Well! Seeing all of our Core Values represented, strong collaboration, and energy among our team members was truly inspiring. #learningandevelopment #teambuilding

Have you been considering a Green Initiative at your organization? Businesses often overlook waste management until it becomes a visible problem. You can easily see overflowing bins, loose waste, and scrap piles cluttering your facility and taking up space. What you don’t see, however, is how much your company contributes to landfills annually.  Launching a company-wide green initiative restores your control over the workspace and shrinks your environmental footprint. Going green is good for the planet and can be great for your bottom line. In this blog, we’ll focus on an area where industrial recycling has helped businesses implement green initiatives. Learn more about the benefits of starting a recycling green initiative at your company here from our latest blog → https://lnkd.in/gsMi-_zN #greeninitiative #sustainability #recycling

Yesterday, some of our team members gathered at the annual Christl Classic to remember our teammate, Mike Christl. This event brings together family, friends, colleagues, and community to celebrate the life of one of the best. Hosted at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville, IL, this annual event is more than just a golf outing; it’s a day dedicated to storytelling, laughter, and honoring the incredible impact Mike had on all of us. Mike’s legacy lives on through the Christl Classic, which supports two causes close to his heart. The "Michael Christl Baseball Scholarship" at Bradley University, Mike’s alma mater, is awarded annually to a standout baseball player who exemplifies excellence, character, and leadership—qualities that Mike himself embodied. Additionally, the event provides ongoing support for Mike and Brandi's three wonderful children, ensuring that Mike’s love and dedication continue to shine through in their lives. We are deeply grateful for the support of everyone who participates in the Christl Classic, keeping Mike’s memory alive and strong. Here’s to the stories we share, the memories we cherish, and the legacy of a truly remarkable man. Thank you for helping us celebrate Mike in the way he would have wanted—with love, laughter, and a little bit of golf.
