It was great to be hosted by Ryan Sports Ventures last week. It was an exciting opportunity for our President, Jeff Jonas, to meet with other industry leaders and be able to chat and share ideas about the future of capturing the attention of the next generation sports fan. #quintarinc
Last week, we hosted the first annual Ryan Sports Summit bringing each of our portfolio companies, funds and partners/friends together for two days of substantive discussions around key topics, lessons on entrepreneurship from some of the leading minds in business and most importantly tremendous fellowship amongst a carefully curated group of likeminded people. The event commenced with remarks from Ryan Sports Ventures managing partner Rob Ryan , Pat Ryan then provided an overview of why the family felt it was so important to help Northwestern build a state of the art new football stadium that would redefine the collegiate stadium experience (Ryan Field) and then, one of the great entrepreneurs of our time, Patrick Ryan concluded the first night's event with a captivating speech on the topic of entrepreneurship and the role of culture in building sustainable and healthy businesses. The Summit was hosted on Northwestern University's incredible campus and we were very fortunate to have Francesca Cornelli of Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management provided a keystone presentation to each of our attendees. The Northwestern Athletics department were our official hosts of the Summit with our panel discussions held at Welsh-Ryan Arena, followed by a tour of Ryan Fieldhouse and then a tailgate chalet and seats in the new pop-up lakefront stadium to see Northwestern take on Duke to cap off the event. While Deputy AD Jesse Marks has been invaluable to the University and the new Ryan Field project in general, we could not have hosted this summit without his exceptional action-oriented approach and counsel. Not to mention his in-depth presentation on the new Ryan Field and how it will transform the collegiate sports experience. Sincere thanks to each of our panelists and all those that traveled in from around the world. Capturing The Attention of the Next Gen Sports Fan - Aidan Cooney Omer A. (moderators: Brian Kopp & Paul Hourigan ) The Changing Face of Sports Media - Greg Olsen Roger Bennett, Haley Rosen Darren Rovell (moderator: Ryan Baise ) Lastly, this event would have been possible without our amazing event activation agency Best.Day.Ever. Patrick Luckett and his team were truly a force of nature and made a complex set of events and unforeseen issues appear effortless on the outside. We're already brainstorming on how we can make our 2025 Summit even bigger and excited to already hear about the multiple new business ideas and collaborations that are already in progress following our time together in Evanston. Until next year...
