Welcome to Colorful Colorado! We are celebrating our Project Director, Leslie Ransdell, for her recent move from Las Vegas to Colorado, and for her 13th Work Anniversary with our team. Leslie is no stranger to relocation, as she grew up a self-described “Air Force brat” in Puerto Rico, New Jersey, Nebraska and California. She can feel at home in any environment. And since she is a devotee of the outdoors including live music and art festivals, we’re confident that she will feel very much at home in Colorado.   Leslie’s purchasing experience covers most major brands and runs the gamut from independent hotels and resorts to clubs and casinos. She has helped orchestrate more than 300 projects totaling over $300 million in FF&E. Her impressive portfolio of completed projects are in prime locations throughout the country, and she is integral to overseeing new builds and renovations from kick off to completion. We are so pleased to have her closer to our Denver Headquarters, and we’re grateful for her many contributions to R-W Purchasing Partners. Thank you, Leslie, for your expertise, dedication and leadership in guiding the team while we focus on providing client satisfaction. #hospitalitypurchasing #workanniversary #workfamily #projectmanagement #dedication #procurement

In recognition of our dynamic designers this month, we are thrilled to highlight our collaboration with BLUR Workshop on the Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO, set to open later this year. BLUR has skillfully incorporated rich materials, colors, and aviation-themed details throughout the space. Inspired by the surrounding Rocky Mountains and the Academy’s mid-century modern architecture, the design features blue and silver hues that pay homage to the Academy, while warm wood tones bring a touch of nature indoors. The guestrooms celebrate the Academy’s history, combining modern and historic elements with tech-advanced amenities for ultimate comfort and style. BLUR has been a stellar partner throughout this project. Their responsiveness, solid communication, and ability to tackle challenges with creativity have been invaluable. Members of our talented Dallas Team had the pleasure of touring the QUILTCRAFT facility last week. Our team was guided through the entire operation from the arrival of fabric/COM to the packaging, shipping and storage of their finished products. QUILTCRAFT makes a wide range of products for the Hospitality Industry. We were informed and educated on processes from estimating, project management and quality control all the way through to logistics and installation. Our group treasured the time and insight they were provided by wonderful hosts including David Pearson, Kelley Weidner, Lexi Stevens, Shannon Knowles and Jason Smith. We extend our gratitude for their gracious accommodation on our journey through their manufacturing process.

We are delighted to share that, thanks to your efforts, R-W Purchasing Partners donated dozens of handbags and hundreds of other accessories to Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that provides professional clothing to low-income women entering the workforce. We also received some amazing cash donations. Kim acquired R-W (formerly known as Bray Whaler) in June of 2022 from Elisa Whaler, a family member and the company’s President. Kim brings a wealth of business knowledge and a proven track record of success to our organization. Prior to her ownership of R-W, Kim expanded her previous business eight-fold, demonstrating her exceptional leadership and strategic capabilities. With her strong background in operations, Kim has continued to strengthen R-W’s relationships with clients, vendors, and employees, while enhancing the level of procurement services we provide. Her dedication and approach have supercharged our company's growth and performance. We are incredibly grateful for Kim’s remarkable contributions. We are thrilled with our turnout yesterday, and our team spirit is rejuvenated as we embrace our storied history while embarking on this inspiring new journey!

As we celebrate Memorial Day Weekend, Bray Whaler wants to recognize our CFO, Rex Briant, for his contributions to Gold Star Families through Operation 300. This non-profit organization was created in honor of Special Operations Chief (SEAL) Aaron Vaughn, who tragically lost his life when a chopper carrying 30 Americans was shot down in Afghanistan in 2011. Rex mentored Aaron when Aaron was in high school, and he is a great friend to the Vaughn family. In fact, Rex conducted Aaron’s Memorial Service at the request of his mother, Karen Vaughn. Rex has had a lifelong appreciation for our military, as his own father was a 30-year Naval Aviator and Air Base Commander. He appreciates the importance of public service, as also evidenced through his non-profit work in Brazil and West Africa. In this endeavor he has worked in rural areas to teach locals specific trades and small-business skills to become self-sufficient and meet the needs of families, villages, and the region. We are delighted to have Rex as our CFO. He brings decades of financial integrity to the team, and he has more than 25 years of Mergers & Acquisitions experience. When asked about the appeal of joining our company in a long-term capacity, Rex commented that he was quite impressed with the team culture, energy, and passion being second to none. He emphasized the project accounting team’s dedication to ensuring our clients’ funds are properly managed and remain secure, while providing best-of-class service to both our clients and vendor partners. We are blessed to have his leadership and guidance as we continue to bolster and refine our systems. Thanks for helping lead our dynamic team, Rex!
