The internet is full of financial advice — but not all of it leads to lasting success. Sarah Kirshbaum Levy — CEO of Betterment — joins Bob Safian to discuss the risks of treating investing like a dopamine-fueled game. It's easy to get swept up by the attention-grabbing quick wins and viral trends, but long-term financial success requires patience, strategy, and a deeper understanding of the market. Picking stocks is only a part of the equation; taxes and market volatility are just a few of the many imperative things to be aware of when playing the long game. Sustainable wealth isn’t built on hype — it’s built on informed, strategic decisions. #RapidResponse #Investing #Finance #WealthBuilding #Money

Listen in to Chronicle CEO Stacy Palmer's recent interview with Rapid Response on the mystery regarding Elon Musk's philanthropy. Where is it going and how it being distributed?
Elon Musk’s philanthropy — or lack thereof — remains a mystery. Bob Safian and Stacy Palmer — CEO of The Chronicle of Philanthropy — discuss why Musk’s giving remains largely undisclosed, despite his immense wealth. Unlike other billionaires with forward-facing philanthropic efforts, Musk’s foundation has yet to show significant impact. With global crises escalating, it's important to question how the wealthiest among us are providing support through life-changing aid. Transparency in philanthropy isn’t just about accountability — it’s about impact. #RapidResponse #Philanthropy #Leadership #ElonMusk #GivingBack

How are foundations and nonprofits adapting as the Department of Government Efficiency slashes thousands of federal grants? In today’s Rapid Recap, Stacy Palmer of The Chronicle of Philanthropy breaks down the ripple effects: spending freezes, budget scrutiny, and even website audits for so-called “trigger words.” Read on to see why private donations alone aren’t enough to fill the gap.

I've long believed that business is the driving force for progress in our world. Maybe I'm naive. That doesn't mean *everything* business does is good. But the marketplace is such a powerful lever. Getting business to be the best version of itself was my mission as editor of Fast Company, and it remains my mission as host of Rapid Response. So how do we go about building a better future today? In a divisive, chaotic environment of change--policy, technology, society--we need to be more intentional than ever. What does that take? At last fall's Masters of Scale Summit, I did a session with World Central Kitchen's Erin Gore and KIND founder Daniel Lubetzky about the business impacts and lessons of the war in Gaza. I talked with Signal Technology Foundation's Meredith Whittaker about privacy, and Philippe Cousteau about climate, and Slutty Vegan's Pinky Cole about purpose. Onstage or off, the conversations were inspiring and motivating--not just a refreshing reminder of my mission, but packed with practical insights about how to keep moving that mission forward. This stuff is hard, and it's getting harder. Despite the noise, we need to carve out time to think and plan; we need to find new allies and advocates; we need to come together with those who have a different perspective and learn, grow, explore. How do you find that space? Who do you turn to? What's been most memorable and useful in the maelstrom that is 2025? I invite you to share your thoughts in the comments--because I'm always looking for more. I also want to invite you to this year's Masters of Scale Summit, in SF Oct 7-9. The theme is "Building The Future," and we're creating a program gauged for impact. Applications are open at https://lnkd.in/eq7RqgiR. #MastersofScale #MoSSummit Thanks for being a community dedicated to the respectful sharing of ideas.

The National Women's Soccer Team is bringing fans closer to the action than ever before. National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Commissioner Jessica Berman shares with Bob Safian how For the Win — the league’s new docuseries — gives unprecedented access to the locker room, the players, and the heart of the game. From pre-game speeches to post-match emotions, this behind-the-scenes look captures the grit, passion, and resilience that define the league. As Berman says, it's more than a league and a sport — it's a movement. Watch more here: https://lnkd.in/ew6aWWai #RapidResponse #NWSL #WomensSports #ForTheWin #Equality

Stacy Palmer — CEO of The Chronicle of Philanthropy — knows that philanthropy plays an integral role in the betterment of society. She also knows it's only part of the equation. On Rapid Response, Stacey and Bob Safian discuss the nuances of philanthropic work and how even nonprofit donations in the billions aren't enough to cover the true cost of government funding. As budgets are cut, the problems are exacerbated further for the non-profit sector. As funding landscapes change, how do we ensure those in need don’t fall through the cracks? #RapidResponse #Philanthropy #NonProfit #Government

The future of women’s sports isn’t just bright — it’s game-changing. Jessica Berman, commissioner of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), shares with Bob Safian how the league is aiming to be more than the best women’s league — it’s striving to be the best league, period. With major investments and a vision for true equity, the NWSL is normalizing what should have always been the standard: female athletes receiving the same infrastructure, visibility, and respect as their male counterparts. The momentum is real, and just getting started. #RapidResponse #NWSL #WomensSports #Equality #Leadership
