“Embrace stress, don’t suppress it.” In our latest AMA with Dr. David Yeager, Professor of Psychology at The University of Texas at Austin, we discussed what it means to have a mentor mindset and build exceptional learning experiences. One key component: stress. Instead of telling learners to "just breathe" or "stay confident," we should help them reframe challenges entirely. When we shift from suppressing stress to embracing it as a growth signal, we transform barriers into bridges. This isn't just theory - it's backed by compelling research on motivation and learning outcomes. (Which Dr. Yeager explains in detail in his book “10 to 25: The Science of Motivating Young People.”) Thank you, David Yeager and danielle krettek cobb, for sharing how to design high-quality learning experiences with the Reach community!

“Purpose enables people to live healthier, happier and longer lives — and when purposeful people come together, communities thrive.” - Jomayra Herrera and Esteban Sosnik from our thesis post, link in comments.
This chart indicating that the majority of teens feel pressure to have a "game plan" and focus on achievement and their appearance makes me sad. We know that having community and purpose (the bottom three) are far more correlated with living a fulfilling and meaningful life and yet the way we've structured our society has not supported children in that way. This is why we spend all our time at Reach Capital investing in founders who elevate human potential and ignite purpose (the latter being critical!).

Raising hands and raising capital! 🙋 We're delighted to share our continued support of Ednition in their $3.5M seed round, led by GSV Ventures and include our friends at Avalanche and Array Ventures. Co-founders Mick Hewitt and Doug Weber are transforming how education companies build and scale learning applications. Their unified platform streamlines both rostering and data pipelines, making the process more efficient and profitable for Future of Learning companies. Congratulations to the entire Ednition team on this milestone! Looking forward to seeing your continued impact. 💫
If you could hear a drum roll, it’d be right here ➡️ 🥁 Today we announced the close of Ednition’s $3.5M seed round. The round is led by GSV Ventures, and includes some of the most respected names in edtech: including Reach Capital, Avalanche, Array Ventures, and an amazing group of angel investors. We can’t believe it was over three years ago that we set out to solve the most time-consuming and costly challenges for K-12 technology vendors: rostering and data interoperability. We now have millions of students on the RosterStream platform, and we have processed billions of student records. That means our partners have saved countless development hours and dollars, freeing their product and engineering teams to build tools that make a direct impact in the classroom. That’s why we are all here, isn’t it? Read our full announcement to learn more about what this investment means for our edtech partners and what’s next for Ednition: https://lnkd.in/g-6bcq8h Thanks for your support through the years and joining us for an awesome and better-connected future! #Ednition #Edtech #Innovation #FinancingRound #ASUGSV #TransformingEdtech #AI #Investment #TechStartup #LearningTechnology #EducationTechnology

I wanted to share something with you all. Recently, I’ve been using Brilliant.org, and it’s been a game-changer for me. Instead of spending too much time on social media, I’ve been diving into interactive lessons on topics like logic, data analysis and problem-solving. It’s been a refreshing and productive shift that I’ve really enjoyed. Big shoutout to the Brilliant team for building such a useful tool! And nope, this isn’t a paid ad, just a genuine recommendation. 🙌 #Learnbydoing #Growth #Curiosity

Ten years ago, Jennifer Carolan, Co-Founder and Partner at Reach Capital, sat down with Steve Blank to discuss the emerging world of #EdTech. At the time, classroom technology was still in its early stages, and many students didn’t have access to their own devices. Drawing from her background as a science teacher, Jennifer shared how the venture model could help shape education—and the critical role teachers play in driving innovation. Fast forward to today, her forward-thinking insights are more relevant than ever. As EdTech continues to transform classrooms, the involvement of educators remains crucial in shaping its future. Check out this re-released ETL episode in ETL Looks Back to hear her thoughts on the tech revolution in education. #EdTech #Innovation #Education #ETLLooksBack https://lnkd.in/e-cbuRRF
