About us
Created in 1896 the Real Estate Board of New York was the first real estate trade association in the state. REBNY members are New York City’s most talented, energetic and influential real estate professionals. REBNY works on behalf of its members to promote public and industry policies and frequently speaks before government bodies to, among other things, expand New York’s economy, encourage the development and renovation of commercial and residential real property, enhance the city’s appeal to investors and residents and facilitate property management. The Board conducts various professional education programs including state-certified, required courses for licensing, continuing education courses and free seminars to help members hone their professional skills. REBNY also undertakes a wide variety of research projects studying the current residential and commercial conditions within the city and maintains the largest collection of real-estate related information of any city trade association in its Seymour B. Durst library, located at REBNY’s office in mid-town. The Real Estate Board is made up of the following divisions: - The Owners & Builders Division - The Commercial Brokerage Division - The Residential Brokerage Division - The Management Division - The Allied and Associates Division - The Institutional Owners Division Please visit www.rebny.com for more information or to become a member.

New York City needs 12,500 new housing units per quarter to meet its housing goals. In Q4 2024, just 4,309 units were proposed—only a third of the target and 58% below last year’s pace. With new construction lagging well behind demand, addressing the city’s housing crisis requires a stronger commitment to building. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/evk_9aCa
