Honored to win The Webby Awards Video Series - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion category for our short film series "The Big Idea."
The series premiered last May at MIT Museum, and it's been amazing to see it getting the recognition it deserves.
The series follows Kimberly Seals Allers, Danielle Boyer and Kitty C. Liao, three BIPOC female innovators who are doing incredible work. Filming took 2+ years on 4 continents and over 15 cities (including remote villages in the depths of Cameroon, where IDEABATIC worked to bring much needed vaccines to the most vulnerable populations).
It was accepted to 17 festivals in 4 countries, and won numerous accolades, including Best Documentary Short Jury Prize at Independent Film Festival Boston; 4 awards at SeriesFest including Best Directing; Best Documentary Short at the The Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF); Best Indigenous Film at Lonely Seal International Film, Screenplay & Music Festival; 4 Telly Awards including Gold for Non-Broadcast - Social Issues and Silver for Non-Broadcast - Documentary Longform; and Gold at the The Anthem Awards.
Additionally, it was an official selection at this year's Sundance Institute Film Festival's BrandStorytelling event, and an Official Panel selection at SXSW.
We feel fortunate to bring these incredible stories to life through film with the collaboration of MIT Solve & HP, and the work of Passion Point Collective.
We hope you'll check out the series on Glamour, and celebrate along with the creators below.
